Veterinary Specialty Services (VSS) is looking for a board certified or residency-trained criticalist to join our expanding team.
The ECC department consists of three boarded criticalists, a resident, multiple full time and part-time ER DVMs. We run a full 24 hour emergency center with a strong referral base. We are the largest private specialty practice in the state and growing. Our facility is equipped with the most advanced technology including on site MRI, CT, Seimens Ventilator, full in house bloodwork/blood gas, Idexx laboratory (on site), fluoroscopy, and physical therapy. The ICU is ‘open admission’ as patients are admitted into the ICU from all departments.
VSS has seven specialty areas: ECC, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Radiology. A highly trained team of technicians and support staff support the doctors. The ECC team sees primary incoming emergencies, manages patients hospitalized in the ICU, and works closely with the other departments to assist in their incoming emergencies. We are dedicated to excellent patient care and client service. The entire hospital works closely on cases and has a team-oriented approach to patient care.
VSS has a very low turnover rate among our veterinarians. The ECC department was started in 2006 and became a 24 hour emergency facility in 2008. Since that time we have grown exponentially since. We pride ourselves on team achievements and helping each other to provide the best care for the patient.
We are looking for a team-oriented criticalist who thrives on practicing leading edge medicine in a high volume practice with a four-day workweek so there is still time to enjoy life. The position is primarily daytime with weekday and weekend shifts and shared on call time. The evening and overnight shifts are covered by the ER DVMs. We are looking to fill this role immediately. Third year residents are invited to apply.
