Milliken Animal Clinic, a well established yet progressively expanding companion animal practice, is seeking a companion animal veterinarian to join our 4-doctor team. The ideal candidate will be fun loving, personable, confident, hardworking, and skilled in companion animal general practice (internal medicine and general surgery). They would have excellent client communication skills and a true passion for veterinary practice. While not required, having very basic exotic pet knowledge and skills would be an asset.Our companion animal facility consists of a large reception and retail area, 6 examination rooms, separate comfort room (for acupuncture and euthanasia), radiology room, laboratory/pharmacy area, large treatment area, a double surgical suite, and a dental area. The clinic is equipped with an IDEXX laboratory (Procyte, Catalyst, and a multitude of various IDEXX snap test capabilities). We have digital radiography (both body and dental), ultrasound, Tonopen, otoscope with operating head option, ophthalmoscope, PanOptic, IV fluid pumps, and state of the art monitoring equipment.We employ an amazing and very experienced technical staff that keeps the clinic running smoothly and efficiently. They are relied upon heavily for obtaining diagnostics and performing treatments along with promoting client education. This allows our doctors to spend their time examining patients, interpreting diagnostics, and developing treatment plans. Our in-house veterinarians are expected to perform most soft tissue surgeries (excluding cardiothoracic procedures). We have a mobile board certified surgeon that frequents the clinic for orthopedics and more complex procedures.Our practice is open 6 days a week (hours vary per day) but our veterinarians work a schedule with an approximate 40 hour work week. We currently refer after-hour emergencies to the local emergency clinics and we do not require on-call shifts. Our small animal caseload is wide and varied – from basic wellness to involved medical and surgical cases and everything in between. Milliken is located just north of the bustling city of Denver, CO. Our beautiful state provides endless opportunity for outdoor recreation in a gorgeous setting. No matter the season, there is always something to do outdoors, whether it be skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, kayaking, hiking, or attending sporting events.
Additional Salary Information: Base salary is negotiable and to be determined by experience. Additional benefits include PLIT, AVMA membership dues, and a stipend for annual CE. We also offer a 401k retirement saving plan.
