This position is for a Kennel Manager (KM) of a large volume pet care facility in Ft Collins,Colorado. The KM reports directly to the owner of the business and is accountable for all day-to-day operations, client satisfaction, staff management, fiscal accountability and ensuring that all processes and systems are being followed. The KM is the first point of contact for all operations and is responsible for human resources management, process development and new program implementation. The KM is also accountable for meeting established customer service standards focusing on both internal and external customers. This is a high volume (over 200 dog) facility with multiple services and communal playtime. The business is looking for a strong KM with solid experience and ability to run the operation independently. Principal Responsibilities include (this is a short version of the more comprehensive duties):
Staff Management: The KM is responsible for employee hiring, firing, coaching, performance monitoring and team building along with scheduling and assuring proper coverage with fiscal consideration to payroll cost.
Operations : The KM is responsible for all facility operations (boarding, daycare, grooming, training and add-on services); safety of dogs, staff and clients. Ensuring that established, high quality, customer service standards are consistently met and exceeded; handling customer complaints to ensure positive outcomes. Responsible for ensuring high cleanliness & sanitation standards are met, maintenance needs addressed and supply inventories monitored.
New Program Implementation: The KM is responsible for implementing new programs and services as directed by owner. Specifically, the KM will be enhancing and growing the existing daycare program and incorporating other service add-ons.
Successful candidate will have the following (minimum) qualification:
- Min of 2 year degree, 4 year degree preferred
- 3 years in a General Manager/Operations Manager position
- 3 years of leadership position managing at least a group of 5 people
- Has implemented new services and programs (preferably pet care industry related)
- Strong track record of successful staff management, including hiring, firing, training & support
- Strong track record of successful customer management
- Starting Salary at $40,000
- Annual incentive bonus potential
- 10 paid PTO days annually
- Salaried, Exempt position
