- Assistant/Associate Professor in Community Practice (Faculty)
Description
Clinical Track or Tenure Track faculty position in Small Animal Medicine with a focus on community outreach.
Requirements
Participate in classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, graduate students, interns, and graduate veterinarians.
Participate in providing client services to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), with emphasis on, but not limited to Small Animal Community Practice.
Provide supervision and training to students and rotating interns in physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, general care and interpersonal communication (client, patient care team, etc.).
Participate in clinical and laboratory instruction for and supervision and evaluation of veterinary students and interns with hands-on instruction, and case-based rounds or small-group didactic sessions.
Participate in didactic course instruction for and evaluation of veterinary students.
Development and teaching of assigned topics in curriculum courses, participate in student rounds sessions and participate in student performance evaluations.
Participate in community outreach service activities including the Mobile Practice service.
Develop innovative teaching and service programs.
Development of strong professional relationships with referring veterinarians.
Participation in state and national outreach and continuing education.
Participation on college and university committees.
Participate in creative scholarship in small animal clinical medicine for professional development
