Montrose Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our long-standing, well-respected mixed animal practice located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. We have proudly served our community from the same location for over 60 years and are recognized as one of the top veterinary practices on Colorado’s Western Slope, serving multiple counties.

The Associate Veterinarian works under the guidance of the managing veterinarian and practice owner to fulfill our promise to clients: making their animals’ health our top priority and providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality medical, surgical, dental, and preventative care
Diagnosing and treating small animals, livestock, and horses (case mix flexible)
Educating clients and partnering with them on diagnostics, treatment plans, and nutrition
Advocating for best practices and evidence-based medicine
Collaborating closely with a skilled, compassionate support team
Participating in continued learning and professional growth
Mentorship is available, and the role can be tailored to your experience level and professional interests.
Requirements
DVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary school
Colorado veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
Interest in mixed animal practice (small animal–only focus can be accommodated)
Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
New graduates welcome—supportive mentorship provided
* Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $100,000, plus production (22% paid out every 6mo)
Average total compensation $100,000–$150,000+ annually
Production-only compensation negotiable
2 weeks paid vacation annually

Paid veterinary license, license defense, and liability insurance
Continuing education conference covered + $1,000 CE stipend

About the Hospital
Small animal hospitalization facility with isolation
Large animal surgical suite with cattle chute, horse stocks, and large animal hospitalization
In-house IDEXX blood chemistries, urinalysis, SNAP tests, Invue, plus close association with a full-service clinical pathology lab
Ultrasound for small animal, equine, and bovine patients
Class IV Cutting Edge Laser therapy (trained staff)
Fully digital radiography (small animal, equine, and dental)
Isoflurane anesthesia with most orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries performed in-house
Large boarding kennel for dogs and cats
Fully stocked large and small animal pharmacy
