Position Overview
Murrells Inlet Veterinary Hospital (MIVH) is a large, progressive small animal veterinary hospital seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Veterinarian to join our established team. Our practice is built on collaboration, high-quality medicine, and exceptional patient and client care.
We are proud to have a 7-doctor veterinary team that works closely together, supported by an outstanding 38-member support team of technicians, assistants, and client service professionals. This strong support structure allows our veterinarians to focus on practicing excellent medicine while enjoying a positive, team-oriented work environment. This position is ideal for a veterinarian who values teamwork, continued learning, and practicing medicine in a well-equipped, supportive environment.
About Our Practice
Appointment-based practice with efficient scheduling and workflow
Preventative care, diagnostics, and sick-patient visits
Routine and advanced surgery
Modern medical equipment and in-house diagnostics
Emphasis on collaboration, mentorship, and case discussion

Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive medical care for companion animal patients
Diagnose and manage a wide range of medical conditions using evidence-based medicine
Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures based on experience and interest
Develop diagnostic and treatment plans in partnership with clients
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and team members
Collaborate with fellow veterinarians and support staff to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care
Maintain accurate, thorough medical records
Uphold MIVH standards for medical care, professionalism, and client service
Qualifications
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school
Licensed or eligible for licensure in South Carolina
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Commitment to ethical, high-quality veterinary medicine
New graduates and experienced veterinarians are encouraged to apply
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation (Experience-Based | No Production Requirement)
New Graduates: $115,000 – $130,000
Experienced Associates: $130,000 – $165,000+
(Final compensation determined by experience, clinical skills, and scope of practice)

Schedule & Job Requirements
Predictable, balanced schedule: 4 weekdays + every other Saturday No emergency or on-call duty
Job Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of South Carolina, in accordance with the South Carolina Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners (SC LLR)
Ability to work four (4) weekdays per week and every other Saturday
Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based medical care
Strong communication skills and a compassionate, client-focused approach
Ability to collaborate effectively within a large, multi-doctor, team-oriented hospital
Organized, dependable, and professional demeanor
