Description
Associate Veterinarian – AAHA-Accredited, Well-Resourced Private Practice
Florham Park & East Hanover, NJ | 7-doctor collaborative team | Comp. to $165K + $10K signing bonus
The Veterinary Center of Morris County operates two AAHA-accredited, privately owned hospitals located just five miles apart in Florham Park and East Hanover. Both locations are unified by a single philosophy expressed by the owner, Dr. Edelle: “Trust your veterinarians to be doctors, not widgets.”
The practice is designed to support your medical judgment, your workflow, and your long-term well-being.
How the Practice Supports You
Control Over Your Clinical Day
You guide your own appointment schedule—reflecting the practice’s belief that, “You manage your own appointment schedule. Not a corporate algorithm. Not a practice manager trying to maximize revenue per hour. You.”
Appointment lengths give you time to think, examine thoroughly, and communicate clearly.
Respect for Your Medical Judgment
You practice medicine the way you were trained—without pressure to adhere to rigid corporate protocols. As the hospital emphasizes, “You practice medicine the way you were trained to practice it—with time to think, examine thoroughly, and build relationships.”
Two Dedicated Support Staff Per Shift
Each veterinarian works with a consistent, capable support team so you can focus on patient care rather than juggling multiple operational tasks.
Four day shifts with alternate weekend day.
Stable, Engaged Client Base
Clients choose this practice because they want comprehensive, relationship-based care. As the posting notes, “Strong client base means you're not starting from scratch or constantly selling services.”
Responsive, Accessible Ownership
Associates consistently describe Dr. Edelle as an owner who listens, collaborates, and acts quickly when something is needed. One veterinarian shared:
“If you need something done, there is no delay. She is a patient teacher. She doesn’t talk at people. She really listens.”
Professional Environment & Culture
The practice maintains a culture that values communication, teamwork, and genuine collegiality. Monthly medical meetings support shared learning and case collaboration. Staff recognition and small celebrations contribute to a warm, connected team environment.
The result is exactly what the previous posting captured: “A place where work-life balance isn’t just a recruiting buzzword, but how the practice actually operates.”
