Practice Overview

Monmouth Small Animal Hospital began in 1989. In 2007, we found that our ever-growing business needed to be expanded, so we had a major remodel done. We doubled the size of our practice, including 3 exam rooms, a large lobby, and a surgery suite with an attached treatment/pre-op/post-op room.

Today, our full-service veterinary team cares for a range of small animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and beyond.

We maintain a diverse and exciting caseload, including soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, C-sections, and a wide variety of medical cases. As one of the only reproductive specialists in the area, we take pride in offering advanced theriogenology services to our clients.

Our hospital is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and laser therapy, and we're always open to adding new tools or technology to support your professional goals.

Essential Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
• Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
• Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
• Maintain patients' medical records.
• Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
• Appropriate state licensure.
• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
