Happy Tails Veterinary Hospital is looking for a new team member — and it could be YOU!
We are an AAHA-accredited, privately owned small animal hospital in Pasadena, MD, just minutes from beautiful Downs Park. We offer a mix of traditional and integrative veterinary care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets — including birds, reptiles, and small mammals.
At Happy Tails, we understand that quality care takes time. That’s why we operate as a High-Touch, Low-Volume Hospital. This model prioritizes longer appointment times, robust diagnostics, and thorough client education — all to support meaningful, long-term patient relationships. We understand that flexibility and freedom is important to any relief veterinarian. This position has NO CONTRACTS TO SIGN! - Just the ability to have steady, reliable work per week to count on while you work at other hospitals.
We are currently seeking a part-time relief veterinarian to join our team. You should be comfortable working with dogs, cats, and exotic species. The ideal schedule is one to two shifts PER WEEK that we can reliably schedule appointments on. This position can REQUIRES urgent care ability and can be open to general practice appointments, at your discretion.

Requirements
Our Ideal Candidate:
We’re looking for someone who:
Loves educating clients and sees them as active partners in pet care
Is confident (or eager to grow) in key clinical skills: wound repair, cytology, ultrasound (including FAST scans), surgery, and SOAP-format records
Has experience with — or interest in — Fear Free, AAHA, or Cat Friendly practices
Is ready to learn hands-on technical tasks like intubation, IV catheter placement, drug dosing, and restraint (we value veterinarians who pitch in!)
Believes that every team member — from kennel assistant to CSR — plays a vital role
Is open to exploring holistic modalities like acupuncture, Chinese and herbal medicine, physical therapy, and therapeutic laser
Ability to work one to two shifts on the same day(s) EVERY WEEK for reliable scheduling for our team. Ability to take urgent care appointments is a MUST.
Education: DVM or equivalent (Required)
Licenses: DEA Certification (Required)
Location: In-person in Pasadena, MD (Relocation required before start)
