Broad River Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Medical Director who’s excited to step into a leadership role, influence medical excellence, and mentor others—all within a supportive practice that values balance, collaboration, and professional development.
What to Expect
- Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year
- Sign on Bonus: $20,000
- Location: 121 Barnardsville Hwy, Weaverville, NC
- Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 7:45am – 5:15pm
As Medical Director, you’ll play a key role in shaping medical standards, mentoring the veterinary team, and partnering with hospital leadership—while still practicing hands-on medicine. As you join our mission to promote responsible pet ownership and provide preventative healthcare and education to our clients, you can expect strong support for both your professional and personal life, including:
- A schedule that respects your time. Our last appointment of the day is at 5:00pm. No on-call responsibilities and no expectation to stay late.
- A strong support team. With a 2.5:1 staff-to-doctor ratio, you’ll have the support and collaboration needed to practice excellent medicine and lead effectively.
- Comprehensive benefits. Health, dental, vision, retirement, plus extra paid time off for continuing education and an annual CE allowance. We also cover state licensing, DEA, AVMA PLIT, and professional membership fees (AVMA, ISVMA, VIN, and more).

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or VMD degree from an accredited institution
- Valid veterinary license in the state of North Carolina
- Previous clinical experience; leadership or mentorship experience preferred

Dr. Allison also provides acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as an additional treatment option for our patients.
