Animal Clinic Inc. is seeking a Medical Director to help lead our two hospital locations (Animal Clinic East & Animal Clinic Downtown) in Chattanooga, TN.

Position Overview
The primary purpose and function of the Medical Director is to lead and manage the hospital and ensure the highest quality of medical care, unmatched client experience, associate engagement, and maximum productivity of the hospital team. The Medical Director advocates for the pets and their quality of life; builds a long-term relationship with the team and clients and educates clients and hospital team on all aspects of pet health and the human, pet bond. The Medical Director partners with the Operations Advisor, support team, and Practice Manger to operate an effective and productive hospital team, ensure a safe and engaging hospital environment, and improve the medical quality, client experience and business performance of the hospital.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Oversee and train the team on professional, efficient, and unmatched client experience (lead by example), to include client education, preventive care, pet health needs, marketing campaigns, and effectively resolve client issues.
- Partner with the Operations Advisor, Support Center and Practice Manager to interview, select, train, develop, coach, mentor, and if necessary, discipline and terminate team members.
- Work with the Practice Manager to develop development plans for associate doctors to ensure training and development to deliver the Vision and Mission of UVC.
- Partnering with the Practice Manager, effectively create and maintain veterinarians’ work schedules to ensure proper coverage to meet client needs and proactively plan PTO and CE scheduling.
- Develop annual planning, budgeting, and hospital productivity levels for the hospitals in partnership with Support team, OA and hospital leadership.

Functional Responsibilities
- Establish trust and gain the confidence and compliance of clients through effectively delivering appropriate preventive care, performing complete diagnostic work ups, developing thorough treatment plans, communicating home care instructions, and planning follow up visits.
- Effectively communicate diagnosis and treatment plan to hospital team and clients
- Build collaborative relationships: build strong professional relationships with UVC team members, clients, and community.
- Lead the hospital team through the daily schedule and caseload, delegating tasks to the team and improving hospital efficiency.
- Work with the Practice Manager to Ensure that all client concerns are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- TN Veterinary License in good standing or eligibility for licensure with the applicable state veterinary board.
- 4+ years as a veterinarian with leadership experience

Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
TN Veterinary License in good standing or eligibility for licensure with the applicable state veterinary board.
4+ years as a veterinarian with leadership experience
