- Veterinary Student Preceptorship - Southwest Missouri
Description
Want to join us in making a difference? Come do a preceptorship and enjoy the adventures of private medicine where we strive to save lives one case at a time!
When you preceptor with the team at Cornerstone, you will be joining an AAHA accredited team who not only says they are practicing high quality medicine, but are forced to practice in such a way to live up to the AAHA standards. We are a multi doctor practice with multiple niche interests to offer a wide variety of services to our clients and patients. Physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, and regenerative medicine are some of the non traditional therapies we get to offer our patients!
During your preceptorship, you will be able to follow multiple doctors who will help to mentor you in a variety of cases that may range from preventative medicine, internal medicine, geriatric care, oral and soft tissue surgery, and more. Students will be both involved in both canine and feline cases. They may also, if desired, participate in the care of the exotic patients that we see. Students will also have the option of working with the on-call doctor to see any emergencies that may call in during non-business hours. The level of involvement with each case will depend on the student’s skills.
Housing is provided on premise for all students to include a bed, living room area, desk for studying, and private bathroom. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the staff resource room that students are also welcome to use. Please note that housing is only available for students and is not open to significant others or spouses. There is a maximum of two students taken at a time for preceptorships. Students must be of the same sex if two are taken at the same time. Otherwise, only one will be taken per preceptorship period.
No groceries will be provided, but students are welcome to take meals with the doctors during their stay with us. An honorarium may be provided at the discretion of the management team. Each student will receive an evaluation at the end of their stay to aid the student in further learning and professional development. Job opportunities are available and students who preceptorship with us have a higher likelihood of joining our team.
Colossians 3:23-24
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."
