The internship program is designed to provide an environment for first year veterinarians to continue broadening their diagnostic, treatment and case management skills while being mentored by progressive ambulatory practitioners. The internship will be an intense learning opportunity exposing new veterinarians to a high volume of cases. The program is designed to provide interns with the skills necessary to enter private practice.
The 12-month program will start in June 2018 with interns working with all the partners and associates in the practice. The practice has an emphasis on reproduction, lameness, radiology and sales consultations while also providing herd health and wellness programs including vaccinations, dental exams and emergency services for our clients. Our current staff includes seven veterinarians focusing on all aspects of equine care with both an ACVIM and ACVS on staff. Our on-site laboratory provides quality results in a timely manner.
The practice strives to be on the cutting edge, providing our clients with the best treatment options available and interns will have access to these diagnostic and treatment tools. Equipment used by our doctors while on ambulatory calls include digital radiograph machines, digital ultrasound machines with theriogenology, muscoskeletal and cardiology capabilities, endoscopes including video abilities, RLT laser, shockwave, Game Ready, Lameness Locator, MagnaWave and therapeutic ultrasound devices.
