Ready to bring your well-honed medical/surgical skills to a great AAHA-accredited clinic at the end of the road in Homer, Alaska. We are a very busy practice with a diverse caseload including small animal, equine and small-holding farm livestock cases.
This position is well-suited to a veterinarian who has developed excellent diagnostic and surgical skills which are vital for working triage/emergency cases. It is essential that you are a professional team player with clear, compassionate communication, confident to work independently while optimizing the whole teams's success by prioritizing patient care and service to our clients and community.
This is a rural practice with all the challenges and rewards of providing service to a wide range of clients and patients. This position may be very suited to an ER vet who would like to continue working emergency/critical care cases on a flexible part-time to full-time schedule.
5 years + experience in small/mixed animal practice with experience in all areas and specific interests in some of the following areas an advantage: emergency medicine, soft tissue surgery, surgical dentistry, ultrasound and diagnostic imaging, veterinary acupuncture, complex internal medicine case management, geriatric care and dermatology.
Equine and small ruminant work is a small yet important area of our work and a professional interest in working across species is welcome but not essential.
