Being uber professional hasn't worked thus far, so here goes...
Are you a Type A personality vet who thrives on excellent performance and expects the same of those around you? Do you love animals, including slightly deformed Persian clinic cats who require constant medical intervention but create comic relief worth their weight in gold? Do you struggle with people? Do you love to laugh at inappropriate things and wish to enjoy your job and coworkers? If so, we may be the right fit for you!
Seriously... We are seeking an enthusiastic and realistic associate veterinarian for our small animal practice in the lovely Litchfield Hills of Connecticut, less than 2 hours from NYC and 2.5 hours from Boston, MA. To be perfectly honest, there is not a h&6* of a lot to do around here, but it is pretty and peaceful and if you have or want kids, it is a decent place to raise them and you couldn't find a better boss for a working parent than the owner of this hospital.
Our focus is on the practice of progressive veterinary medicine tailored to meet the needs of each of our patients and their human families. We offer comprehensive medical, dental and surgical care in a friendly, intimate setting with an in-house laboratory, digital radiology, ultrasound, comprehensive anesthetic monitoring and more. We are a growing practice with an excellent support staff committed to continued growth and development. A commitment to the practice of excellent medicine is required, along with an ability to work well with others. You do not have to love client interaction, but you do need to know how to effectively and compassionately communicate with pet owners (ie fake it until you make it). We are a friendly and family-oriented practice looking for the right person to join our team!
We offer an excellent benefits package including uniforms, health insurance, paid vacation/sick leave, CE and licensure. Our health insurance kicks a$#.
Please include a resume, cover letter, and references with your application and preferably a commentary on your vet life perspective.
