We are searching for an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to add to our well-trained support staff. Our hospital(s) has been serving the community for over 29 years and are eager to welcome a talented manager with a passion for team development, financial management, and client service. This role demands a leader with strong interpersonal and organizational skills who is motivated to develop strategies and promote a high level of care and growth within the hospital(s).
The Practice Manager's Role: A veterinary practice manager's role is very diverse, the candidate will work closely with the management team to ensure effective operations, open communication, and accountability of both hospitals. He/she will continue to work to improve patient care and the client experience. Also, the individual will be responsible for implementing policies and procedures in accordance with AAHA and Fear-Free guidelines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and continual improvement based on best practices and industry benchmarks to maximize productivity, profitability, and growth.
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to
First and foremost, the Veterinary Practice Manager should provide leadership for the support staff
Pursue continual improvement in the practice in line with the owner's vision
Promote the sustained growth of the business through improved marketing, strategic planning, and identifying areas of new or improved profit centers.
Prepare agendas and lead staff and management meetings, etc.
Maintain an efficient inventory control system
Recruit, interview, hire and support hospital staff
Conflict resolution for internal employee matters and complaints from clients
Consistently monitor the appointment calendar and work schedule(s) to ensure proper staffing of doctors and support staff as well as monitor daily flow of the hospital to ensure smooth operation and consistency
Thorough understanding of veterinary economics, industry standards, and benchmarks
Ability to lead a large team and support two busy, multi-doctor, veterinary hospitals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Marketing experience with familiarity with current social media platforms
Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,?as well as Google Docs, and QuickBooks®
Work with Hospital Accountant to manage QuickBooks® and accounts receivable
Maintain the facilities with a high degree of cleanliness
Two years of Veterinary Management experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred
CVPM is a bonus - While certification is not required for this position, it is preferred. If the successful applicant is not certified, they will be encouraged to pursue certification with the VHMA over time.
Compensation commensurate with experience, but a well-qualified candidate could expect a compensation package of $55,000 - $65,000 (or more) with potential salary bonus based on achievement of practice goals. We base our compensation package on experience and education.
