Metro West Emergency Veterinary Center
August 27, 2018
Fort Worth, Texas
Type & Experience Level:
Full Time - One to seven years
DVM or equivalent
$20,000 On-boarding bonus! Metro West Emergency/Hulen Hills Animal Hospital is building a new 25,000 square foot facility in the heart of Fort Worth, Texas -- the 15th largest and one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S. Our promise is to maximize the life our clients share with their pets. We are looking for skilled and caring Emergency Veterinarians who will help us deliver on that promise and help clients and their pets feel better, play more, and love longer. When we move to the new place, we also will become The PARC, which stands for People, Animals, Revolutionary Care. For more info see ThePARCvet.com.
We currently have 9 veterinarians on staff, and our new facility will open up space for several more. Our doctors partner with each other on hard cases, ensuring our patients are getting the best of our collective efforts. We provide each other with support on those days when nothing seems to go right. We trust the other has our back when we’re gone, which allows us to focus on our family, friends, and hobbies during our time off. Having a team you trust will allow you to reap the rewards of a work/life balance.
This position works a rotating schedule that includes overnights, weekends, and holidays. The four-week rotation schedule includes 3 to 4 shifts worked consecutively coupled with 4 to 7 days off.
Our Emergency Veterinarians must have the ability to lead the team through a variety of cases to best serve our clients and patients. The new facility will have the most advanced diagnostic capabilities, including CT, digital x-ray and ultrasonography, flexible endoscopy, and will provide many orthopedic and neuro surgical solutions in-house. We are designing a state-of-the art training center so that we can provide ongoing education to keep our team staffed with the best and brightest people in the industry. CE training will be accompanied by training on relational connections and trust with our clients.
Because this veterinarian may be the only one on duty at times (during overnight shifts), the ideal candidate will require strong analytical and technical abilities and will demand fast, but carefully thought-out results. Strong leadership and control of the work process from beginning to end is necessary. The ideal candidate will thrive on:
The challenge to quickly build trusting relationships with people during emergent situations
Leading and controlling multiple projects simultaneously
Independent decision making not requiring collaboration
Candid delegation to others with active follow-up
We offer an extremely generous production-based salary and benefits including health insurance, $20,000 on-boarding bonus, CE allowance, professional dues, and license renewal. Email resumes to KThomason@hulenhills.com.
