This is a wonderful company whose focus is on creating a loving experience for the client and their pet. It is emotionally rewarding as we have the best clients who have treated their pets as family. We are a group of compassionate and respectful veterinarians who not only support our clients but support one another. Our number one priority is customer service over the bottom line and it shows not only in our client reviews but also in our collogue relationships. We are looking for veterinarians who are compassionate, caring, respectful and have a good work ethic.
The position is mobile and on-call. It requires going into people's homes to perform gentle euthanasia.
This position offers amazing flexibility. Work fewer hours and make more money. It may seem impossible, but it's true.
1. A vehicle with a hatchback. This can be a sedan in which the back seats go down, an SUV or minivan. We use a gurney for taking larger dogs and there needs to be access and room to roll the gurney into your vehicle.
Ability to lift dogs and gurneys. I’m personally not that strong and have been able to do this with the help of the gurney. Just know that physical labor is involved.
Comfortable going into homes by yourself. We do not use techs. I’ve been doing this for 14 years and there has never been a problem. I also am aware that the majority of home euthanasia services do not use a tech and safety has not been an issue. We use heavy sedation for restraint.
Comfortable with a direct stick into the vein. If you can do a blood draw, you can do this. We are also able to give you some tricks and tips. We do not use full catheters. Butterfly catheters are available. We use syringes with 25 or 22 gauge needles.
Additional Salary Information: The more you work the more you can make. Our vets are averaging incomes higher than the average paid position in our area.
