FULL TIME & RELIEF VETERINARIAN(S) WANTED: Humane Society seeking a full time veterinarian for the dual purpose of caring for shelter animals and performing feline/canine spays/neuters at our LCHQHV spay & neuter clinic. Are you enthusiastic, a self-starter, motivated visionary? Do you thrive on the fast paced setting of an active humane society? Then we want you! Located on the beautiful lower Eastern Shore of Maryland. Knowledge and experience of HQHV spaying & neutering, shelter medicine, dentals, and various surgical procedures a plus. 40 hour work week, Monday to Friday. Salary & benefits negotiable and will commensurate with experience.
Also seeking relief veterinarians to work in our low cost spay & neuter clinic. Salary is negotiable; LCHQHV training/experience a plus.

A degree in veterinary medicine from an accredited university of veterinary medicine.
A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Maryland, which will be maintained throughout employment in this class, is required at the time of appointment.
Must possess or be able to obtain a Drug Enforcement Agency (D.E.A.) controlled substance registration.
Knowledge & Skills of:
Principles and practice of current veterinary medicine - shelter medicine a plus.
Animal diseases and their prevention, control and eradication.
Current veterinary practices in compliance with the veterinary practice and techniques relating to the treatment of injured animals.
Provide surgical and medical services and care for a variety of well, sick and injured animals, including a high volume of spay and neutering operations.
Analyze critical medical and administrative situations and take effective action.
Provide state-of-the art, high quality animal medical services in the most efficient manner.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective relations with those contacted during the course of work.
Prepare written reports, letters and other documents using a computer.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Establish effective working relationships with management, employees, volunteers, employee representatives and the public representing diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Treat other employees, volunteers, representatives of outside agencies and members of the public with courtesy and respect.
Exercise appropriate judgment in answering questions and releasing information; analyze and project consequences of decisions and/or recommendations.

We are a 501 c 3 non-profit, private, no kill humane society located outside of Ocean City MD, on Maryland's lower Eastern Shore. We are a smallish organization, housing approximately 200 animals at any given time. We provide animals loving care until we find them forever homes.
