Urban Tails At-Home Veterinary Care is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and relationship-focused veterinarian to join our growing team in Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities.
This position is ideal for veterinarians who value practicing high-quality medicine in a low-stress environment, building meaningful relationships with clients, and having the time needed to provide personalized care. Rather than managing a crowded appointment schedule in a traditional hospital setting, our doctors deliver veterinary care in the comfort of the patient's home, allowing for a more thoughtful, thorough, and rewarding experience for both pets and their families.

Our veterinarians typically see 7–9 appointments per day, allowing them to focus on each patient without the pressure of double-booked schedules or rushed visits. As an Associate Veterinarian, you will provide preventive care, diagnostics, medical management, hospice and palliative care, quality-of-life consultations, and client education in a mobile practice setting. You will be supported by a veterinary technician and assistant, allowing you to focus on practicing medicine while delivering a personalized and compassionate client experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive physical examinations and develop diagnostic and treatment plans
Diagnose and manage a wide variety of medical conditions in canine and feline patients
Provide preventive care, including wellness examinations, vaccinations, and parasite prevention
Perform in-home diagnostics, including laboratory sample collection and interpretation
Develop treatment plans and monitor ongoing patient care
Provide hospice, palliative care, and quality-of-life consultations
Educate clients regarding preventive medicine, nutrition, behavior, and disease management
Maintain accurate and complete medical records
Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians and assistants to provide exceptional patient care
Participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities

Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
Active Colorado veterinary license or ability to obtain licensure
Strong diagnostic and communication skills
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative
Excellent client education and relationship-building abilities
Proficiency in medical record documentation
Experience in general practice preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
Preferred Skills
Interest in geriatric medicine, hospice care, pain management, or chronic disease management
Experience with mobile veterinary practice or house-call medicine
Strong client communication and emotional intelligence
