Our office visits are scheduled with minimum of 30 minutes to allow for thorough exams, in-depth consultation, case collaboration with colleagues, and mentor-ship. We require an associate with excellent client and staff communication skills. Small animal skills are paramount, however livestock and equine skills (though not mandatory), would be helpful, as our veterinarian that provides those services is soon to retire.
We are a slower paced, mixed animal, veterinary hospital in Kingman, Arizona with a caseload 90% K9/feline, 9% equine, and 1% miscellaneous barnyard mammals. We serve a population density of about 40,000 local residents.
Kingman sits in a desert mountain valley at 3300 feet elevation, whose location, climate, nearby lakes, desert, and mountains provide endless, year round, outdoor recreation opportunities. Kingman's historic downtown district has undergone considerable renovations and hosts cultural activities and a bustling nightlife. Home prices and low taxes make for a very affordable cost of living. Our area is one of the fastest growing regions in the country. As such, it's veterinary market is vastly under-served making opportunities boundless.
Our practice has very little turnover with a well seasoned and experienced staff. It is well equipped with surgical laser, DR radiology, in-house Idexx lab, Impromed operating system, fiber-optic endoscope, diagnostic ultrasound, etc....
Full time schedule is 4 days/week. Part time schedule can be negotiated. After hours "on Call" is shared on a rotational basis and is generously compensated.
Approximate earnings of current full time, experienced associates are as follows.
- commission based , pre-tax wage is about $125,000/year
- 14 paid days off/ year to be used for vacation, sick leave, personal days, or CE
- Quarterly bonuses, based off performance
- $1200 annual CE allowance
- Arizona and DEA license reimbursement
- Professional organization dues reimbursement- ( ie AVMA, AzVMA, etc)
