Blue Buffalo Company is inviting 2nd-year students to apply for the position of Blue Buffalo Student Representative. One student will be selected for this position, which will commence in August 2020 and conclude in May 2021.
Through this position, the student will:
Be paid an annual stipend of $1,000, in two equal payments of $500
Advance their understanding of pet nutrition
Gain leadership and organizational skills
Assist in piloting Blue Buffalo’s student and staff feeding program at the CVM
Roles & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the Blue Buffalo Company and the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). The ideal candidate will have a background in small animal medicine, with a special interest in nutrition, be a leader in their class, and be in good academic standing.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to
Interface with students and faculty in a manner that follows guidelines and protocol of the CVM.
Distribute educational materials provided by Blue Buffalo to their fellow students.
Collaborate with other student representatives on how best to share Blue Buffalo’s nutrition philosophy and support of veterinary students. This may include working with the CVM administration/faculty advisor to write articles in student papers, blogs, etc. on topics related to nutrition.
Work with the CVM student groups and faculty to plan and execute one student meeting or event twice annually.
Participate in scheduled virtual meetings with your Blue Buffalo veterinarian to keep them informed of student happenings and current events of the veterinary student body
Assist Blue Buffalo veterinarian in establishing and maintaining CVM pet food sampling program and student/staff/faculty pet feeding program.
