Office Manager Needed for Crossroads Veterinary Clinic, Cortland, NY

Dr. Elizabeth Wood, of the Crossroads Veterinary Clinic located in historic and suburban Cortland County, New York is seeking a is seeking an experienced Office Manager to lead her progressive and growing veterinary team. Crossroads Veterinary Clinic is a busy, progressive clinic located in Cortland, NY, a beautiful town midway between Syracuse and Ithaca.
The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership qualities, the ability to work independently and the desire to help develop our team’s potential. Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel is required and experience with AVImark software is highly valued. At least 3 years veterinary practice management experience is preferred, as is a BA/BS in a business-related field. The ideal candidate will be a CVPM, or CVPM eligible. Experienced veterinary managers with either a PHR or SHRM-CP human resources certification are also encouraged to apply. Individuals interested in the position must be compassionate, cheerful and have a good work ethic.
Responsibilities include day-to-day operations with major focus on strong personnel management responsibilities including hiring, training, leading the team and preparing the monthly work schedule. A strong commitment to client service skills is imperative to be successful in this position. Other valuable experience includes strong initiative, enjoyment of a job well done, ability to work independently, knowledge of billing, payroll, accounts receivable, inventory control, and experience holding staff meetings and conducting performance reviews.
Strong leadership, time management and communication skills are a must. Successful applicants must be able to adequately assess the overall performance of the practice, participate in the establishment and achievement of goals, analyze and implement new services, products or procedures, and present data and ideas for improvement to the practice owner.

Our staff to doctor ratio is approximately 4:1. Our normal work schedules are flexible and feature no emergency on-call duty. Our technical staff includes NY Licensed Veterinary Technicians, and Veterinary Technician Students.
You need to be a person of good character, customer service oriented, hard-working, detail oriented, thorough, timely, a good communicator, friendly, teachable, and obviously a pet lover!
