Associate Veterinarian
Budget Vet
Want to change your life? Come work for Budget Vet...I know, I know...I have been told to change the name because of negative perceptions...the bottom line is we are proud of our name. We are proud because we provide HIGH quality medicine and surgery at a price that most people can still afford.....and we pay as well, and often better, than our higher priced competition. You will not be paid on production....let me repeat that...you will NOT be paid on production. We feel that production pay in a medical setting is unethical. You will be paid a salary that is set based on what you put into the job. If you are a conscientious and competent doctor, you will make money for us and we know that. We don't want vets who work with the goal of seeing how much they can charge so they get a decent paycheck. That is just wrong. We don't play bait and switch games with signing bonuses. We truly believe that happy doctors are good doctors. Unhappy, overworked, and underappreciated doctors are not good doctors. We are NOT a glorified vaccination clinic. We do advanced soft tissue surgery and orthopedics. We have IV fluid pumps, digital x-ray, full in house blood suite(including CBC, Chemistry, electrolytes, clotting and progesterone), ultrasound--the whole nine yards. We have a highly trained, competent staff that lets you be the doctor and not a glorified technician. And......we have FUN at work. We work hard, but we have fun. We understand you will be spending a lot of time here......it shouldn't be a time that is miserable or overwhelming. I mean, really, we get to play with puppies and kittens right?(and poop and pee......) If you are a new or recent grad you will find no better place to learn how to do routine surgeries efficiently and effectively. The owner has been practicing for close to 25 years and loves to teach if the student is receptive. The mentoring extends well beyond surgical skills as well. The owner also worked exclusively as an emergency clinician for over 5 years, has worked in mixed animal setting as well. Want a little variety? We will see anything we feel competent seeing. That means we see horses, goats, pot bellied pigs, rabbits, etc.....if we think we can do some good we do it. We do not limit ourselves. We are constantly expanding and learning and growing our knowledge base. We are medicine nerds and love to learn new things. We actually would love to expand our services to include things like farm calls and acupuncture....we just don't have the time to do it right now because we are so busy. A new associate could grow new revenue streams for us if they have the desire. If canine reproduction is your thing, we do over 300 c-sections a year and have in house progesterone testing. We do a very large volume of reproduction. We actually use this income stream to help fund our low cost spay and neuter.....kinda poetic justice!!! We have a cloud based, 100% paperless management system that will make your life so much easier. We can upload videos, pictures, everything directly into the file and because it's cloud based, you can access it anywhere at any time. We are moving from a small facility to a 4800 sq foot building on a busy highway and we KNOW our traffic will increase. We are very excited about the move. We know we will need to add staff to keep up with the demand. Our move will be completed by December 28, 2020 and we will be off and running. I promise you we are not like any clinic you have worked at. We are not corporate, we are the anticorporate. The owner is a Board member of the The Veterinary Cooperative, a group of independent vet clinics that stretch across the continent and includes around 4,000 members. This gives our clinic amazing resources and ways to keep costs down so we can offer affordable care. Bottom line is this, if you are tired of having to offer your client the choice of thousands of dollars of treatment or nothing and it hurts your heart...because you went to school to save animals, not just profit from them....you need to give us a shot. There IS another way and we do it.

Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Georgia. Must have a good attitude, healthy sense of humor and the ability to take instruction--even if you are experienced, you always have something to to learn!! You must be able to show up on time and finish the tasks you started. You must be willing to dig and dig to get to the bottom of a case, not just throw some meds at them and kick em out the door..... You must be able to always put the patient's well being above all else. Here at Budget Vet, we know how to be creative in treatment so we can help almost any patient in an affordable way. If you heart was ever broken by having euthanize an animal because of money....this is your place. We do not believe in financial euthanasia. |
