Unhappy in your current job? Let's talk about our associate position !
Saint Francis Animal Hospital
Unhappy with your current job because you are constantly rushed through appointments? Introverted and frustrated because no one seems to listen? Tired of working for "big business" veterinary medicine where decisions are made for you about how to handle a case? Believe in the importance of privately-owned veterinary practices? We're the place you need to be! We here at Saint Francis Animal Hospital strive to be different from surrounding veterinary hospitals by taking the time to know our clients and their pets and provide a comfortable, family-like atmosphere for our employees and associates. To us, clients aren’t just a source of income and employees aren’t just expendable people to do jobs. Clients and their pets, along with our employees, are real people we want to get to know. We encourage quality exam room time and want our staff to learn to lean on each other so they can grow. It shouldn’t be drudgery to come to work each day --- we try to celebrate our victories, learn from our failures and laugh at our humanity. The hospital is well-equipped and has a complete Idexx lab set-up including a blood-gas analyzer, CBC/Chem analyzer, urine strip reader, SNAP heartworm/feline combo readers and coagulation machine. Also available are healing laser, electro-cautery, ultrasound, and Tonopen. There are 5 exam rooms, a large treatment room with Midmark dental equipment and digital dental radiography, whole body digital radiography (images are frequently sent for telemed review with return report in 1-2 hours), and separate surgical suite with prep room. The practice is served by a traveling ultrasound group and referral to a large regional specialty hospital (internists, criticalists, cardiologist, oncologists, neurologist, and surgeons) is only several hours away. Emergency overnite and weekend care is available at two facilities in Myrtle Beach, our neighboring town. Support staff currently includes 2 technicians per veterinarian, several of which are certified. The practice is Silver-level Feline Friendly through the AAFP and our practice owner, Dr. Swanda-Foley, is Human-Animal Bond Certified. The practice is primarily dog/cat but exotic clientele could be developed. Compensation package includes licensing (state/DEA), VIN membership, CE allowance, and health/vision/dental benefits as well as a sign-on bonus and generous vacation time. Any compensation request will be considered. New grads and part-time associates are welcome to apply also ! **We are still following strict isolation protocols due to COVID-19. No clients are permitted in the building except for euthanasia appointments.**
