Valley Equine Associates PLLC is located in Charles Town, WV directly adjacent to Charles Town Racetrack and approximately 60 miles from Washington, D.C. The surrounding area is rich with natural beauty and historical significance.
VEA provides ethical and quality professional services to a large portion of thoroughbred racehorses located at the local track and farms and facilities of multiple other breeds and disciplines located in the surrounding areas of eastern WV, northern VA, and western MD. VEA also works with a smaller number of clients with dairy and beef cows, 4-H steers, goats and sheep. Our mission is to practice and provide high quality health care by considering all options of medicine, surgery & alternative medicine in a compassionate, caring environment. We are committed to providing our clients with a wide range of treatment options that will best suit their needs, beliefs and values.
Qualified DVM/VMD candidates will be provided with a vehicle, equipment, inventory and a wonderful team of support. Salary is commensurate with experience and certifications in addition to full-time benefits. Must be able to obtain licensing in WV, MD, and VA.

Valley Equine Associates was established in 1965 as Valley Veterinary Service and has been servicing horse owners ever since. The facility is located 60 miles west of Washington, D.C. in Ranson, West Virginia near historic Charles Town and Harpers Ferry. We offer experienced care in equine medicine and surgery. The practice is currently made up of two doctors as well as experienced and well trained staff. Our close proximity to the Charles Town Racetrack allows us to also offer convenient services to racehorse owners and trainers as well as the many farms in the surrounding area.
The clinic facility at Valley Equine Associates offers a full range of services including orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery, lameness evaluation, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, pre-purchase exams, shock-wave therapy, IRAP, PRP and reproduction procedures. Ambulatory cases include routine health care, lacerations, colic workups, medicine, lameness, reproduction and emergencies.
Our doctors have years of equine veterinary experience. Our team of trained technicians is just as experienced as our veterinarians are. The doctors and the staff collaborate to ensure that your horse’s health and well being are our top priority.
