We are looking for a per diem veterinarian to help out at our wonderful team at the Firefly Veterinary Hospital in New York City! We have been a proud part of the Chelsea community for over 30 years (formerly known as the Animal Hospital of Chelsea). We did a full renovation last summer and our updated facility ensures that you have everything needed to provide the best care to your patients and clients. 

Our ideal candidate is a veterinarian dedicated to providing high-quality veterinary care who enjoys a variety of GP cases. You will work closely with our team of vet techs, assistants and front desk staff to provide top-notch veterinary care in a welcoming, supported workplace. 

We primarily need a per diem to help cover some appointment shifts. However, we can also schedule procedures and surgeries with you if that is preferred. 

The Practice

It is important you have the necessary tools and technology, both to provide awesome veterinary care and to have a great work environment. Our hospital has: 

• New equipment including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, dental unit, ultrasound
• Full surgical suite with multiparameter monitoring equipment
• Idexx reference lab and in-house lab machines 
• Mobile boarded specialists for imaging (ultrasound, echos, etc.) and orthopedic surgery when needed
• Nearby specialty hospitals for referrals, emergencies and consultations when needed
• Cloud-based electronic medical records (EzyVet) -- so you can efficiently finish records but also access charts from anywhere

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent
• Internship trained or 2+ years’ experience preferred
