Claws and Paws Animal Hospital, a full-service privately owned companion animal hospital, is seeking a Part-Time or Full-Time Veterinarian. At least one year practice experience preferred, but highly qualified recent graduates are encouraged to apply. We are located just west of Richmond, Virginia in beautiful Powhatan County. Our Veterinarians develop a rapport with our clients in order to understand their needs and strive to provide the highest quality medical, surgical and nutritional care.
We offer full in house laboratory capabilities using IDEXX-vet test, and lasercyte (including differentials). We run full urinalysis including sediment, various ELISA tests, and fecals are done in house. We have daily pick up from our external lab and next day test results on all common tests. Digital radiography. Full in house pharmacy along with an online pharmacy. We also work closely with a local accredited compounding pharmacy. Dental radiography. Isoflurane anesthesia with a surgivet full monitoring system. Our practice operates on the IDEXX Cornerstone Practice Management System which is integrated with all IDEXX lab and radiology services.
Our large facility was custom built in 2009 to provide 4 exam rooms, spacious treatment area, and surgery suite with a focus on efficient patient flow. Our hospital is open Monday through Friday; you will not work nights, weekends, or be on call. Qualifications:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
Licensure in good standing to practice in Virginia
The ability to make decisions and communicate clearly and effectively with fellow team members and clients
A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics
