Job Title: Associate Veterinarian
Location: Salem, MA
Status: Full Time (40 hours/week)
Schedule: Monday – Saturday, specific schedule to be determined. Must be available to work evenings and rotating weekends. 
Reports to: Dr. Hezekiah and Dr. Dixon, Owners, Veterinarians
Start Date: Immediate

All Creatures Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA accredited hospital serving dogs, cats and exotics. We are looking to grow with a FOURTH full time Associate Veterinarian. Our hospital is equipped with point of care laboratory services, digital radiography, digital dental radiography and ultrasound services. •    Are proficient with general surgery
•    Are proficient with exotic pet care (or are very motivated to learn!)

Minimum Qualifications:
•    A doctorate of veterinary medicine from an accredited veterinary school
•    License to practice veterinary medicine in Massachusetts
•    Excellent oral and written English communication skills are required
•    Preferred 1-3 years’ experience working with and treating exotic pets however new graduates welcome to apply

Responsibilities:
•    Develop a connection with your clients in order to determine and continuously meet their needs and goals
•    Explain each phase of physical exam to the client and clearly communicate to the client any and all diagnoses or concerns
•    Educate clients on importance of preventive health care, vaccines, laboratory tests, nutrition, behavior and pain management
•    Consider patient comfort when performing all physical exams, dental procedures and surgery
•    Maintain client/patient medical and surgical records including all telephone conversations and e-mails. Make certain all records and logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols
•    Assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of the patient
•    Fulfill all continuing education requirements
•    Assist in the education of the paraprofessional team to assure the delivery of the highest quality care to the patient and client
•    Follow the AAHA standards for the practice
•    Perform local house calls on occasion    
•    Perform surgery one day per week
