Have you noticed that every ad sounds the same? But we both know every hospital is very, very different.
Monday through Friday. No nights, no week-ends, no holidays.
A little about us… Speedway Veterinary Hospital was founded in 1998, so we aren’t going away anytime soon. We are privately, doctor owned. While we understand the move towards corporate medicine, we are still practicing the old-fashioned theory that we are personally invested in the success of our company and want to stay that way. We are AAHA accredited, because we practice the highest quality care possible. We currently have a staff to doctor ratio of 10:1, because that frees up the doctor to be a doctor. We have all the bells and whistles, like digital radiography, digital dental radiography, full in-house lab, etc, because we know technology helps us to practice better medicine. We have a very stable clientele, yet are growing rapidly.
A little about you… You are interested in practicing excellent veterinary care for our patients by using your current skills and expanding your knowledge through research, and continuing education. You want to develop long term relationships with our clients through open communication, honest conversation, and truly caring about successful outcomes. You are a happy, confident person and that shows in how you treat our clients and staff with consideration and respect. You have a strong work ethic, integrity, and sense of fair play. You also care about yourself, and that is why you want to work somewhere that offers work/life balance- no, it is NOT a unicorn!
The reality is… we spend a LOT of time at work, so you better be sure to ENJOY the work, and WHERE you do it. Every job ad seems to read the same… ‘we got tech’, ‘great staff’, ‘great clients’…. Blah blah blah. Every ad sounds the same, but we both know every hospital is very, very different. I am proud of the difference in Speedway Veterinary. We want every client, every time, to feel like we have gone above and beyond for them. Do we always succeed? Of course not. We are only human and this is the practice of medicine in patients who don’t talk. We like having an environment that fosters long term staff who are really invested in the success of our work. We believe in continuing education, because if you don’t stay current and you do not learn new skills/ knowledge, then our patients suffer and, frankly, you get bored. We are small enough to have that family feeling. You won’t be just another rotating face, you are not expendable. Yet we are big enough to handle a vast array of challenging cases. We have an excellent reputation; the kind of hospital of which you will be proud to be a part.
