Nashville Veterinary Specialists, located in Nashville, TN, is currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Hospitalist to join its successful, growing team! This person will work with the emergency team, assisting in the intake and management of hospitalized emergency patients, creating and recommending treatment plans, maintaining and updating medical records and facilitating transfers to the appropriate specialty service as needed.
The ideal candidate will be internship trained or have at least two years of professional experience as DVM prior to their application with NVS. We are interested in candidates who are collaborative, friendly, and compassionate. We have an amazing team of CSR's, Assistants, and Technicians that will support your efforts in providing the best treatment and care to our patients and clients.
The Overnight Hospitalist will work directly with our emergency and critical care team. Their primary responsibility will be to oversee the care of patients hospitalized in our ICU by the emergency and specialty services. They will also be leading a team of ICU staff by answering questions, engaging in teaching opportunities, and communicating with the specialists if a patient complication arises. Once comfortable in their role, the Overnight Hospitalist may also intake transferred patients.
We are actively looking for a second Criticalist. Other on-site Specialists include: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Neurology. We also have rotating interns and an emergency mentorship program.

Round-the-clock care is provided for all our patients through our fully-functioning ICU. Our hospital is a newly constructed approximately 14,000 square foot facility, and we are currently expanding to provide more dedicated space for our growing specialty team.
