Yorkshire Veterinary Hospital, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our amazing team! We are proud to be AAHA accredited! New grads are welcome to apply. Our clinic would provide an excellent environment for veterinarians interested in practicing the highest level of medicine and surgery. Our doctors have varied interests, which we encourage and support.
About our clinic: Yorkshire Veterinary Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital that treats dogs, cats, and our associate, Dr. Brad Bundy, also sees exotics, including small mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds. He would be an amazing mentor for anyone interested in learning more about exotics, although it is not a requirement to see them. Our associate, Dr. Jennifer Barber Jones received her certification in Acupuncture from the Chi Institute and Dr. Kelly Walsh is certified in chiropractic and canine rehabilitation, allowing us to offer these additional services to our patients. Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. We also have a mobile radiologist come in as needed for diagnostic ultrasounds. We are paperless and use Impromed for our electronic medical records.
Most importantly, we have phenomenal, experienced support staff who are crucial to the success of patient and client care. Every doctor is well-supported by 3 technicians and assistants, as well as technicians in surgery and in the lab. 14 of our technicians are CVTs and our head technician has been with our team for 10 years! To round out the group, our practice manager, Kim, keeps us all on track and our practice running smoothly. She has been here for 17 years, is also a CVT, and has a passion for veterinary dentistry. Kim helped build our dentistry caseload and ensured we have all the fun toys to play with, including a VET-TOME.
At Yorkshire Veterinary Hospital, we perform a variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries and dentistry. Our surgery suite contains CO2 cutting laser and monitoring equipment and there is always a CVT monitoring and managing anesthesia in surgery. All our patients undergoing anesthesia receive an IV catheter and IV fluids. We also utilize the services of a traveling board-certified surgeon for advanced soft tissue procedures and occasionally for orthopedic procedures. We use therapeutic laser on all patients who have had extractions, as well as post-operatively on every spay and neuter.
Our practice is open Monday – Friday, 7 am to 5:30 pm and Saturdays, 8 am to 1 pm. There are usually 5 doctors working each day, with 4 seeing appointments and 1 doing surgery. On appointment days our doctors work from either 8 am - 5pm or 8:30 – 5:30 pm, with an hour lunch break mid-day. On their surgery day, doctors typically come in at 7 am, start cutting by 8 am and are usually able to leave by 4 pm. We can be flexible with scheduling, but the schedule would ideally be 4 weekdays, with occasional Saturday coverage, which is usually once every few months. There are no on-call responsibilities, because we are fortunate to have multiple emergency hospitals in the area. You can learn more about our amazing practice at yorkshirevetclinic.com.
