Friendship Hospital for Animals is seeking a veterinarian to join our busy and expanding Primary Care department.

We are currently a team of 12 veterinarians, including 2 DABVPs. A successful applicant should possess excellent communication skills, a focus on teamwork and collaboration and an interest in building client relationships. Candidate with a strong interest in surgery is preferred.

District of Columbia veterinary license is not initially required; however, an approved application must be on file with DC prior to beginning employment.

Job Description:

Emergency receiving; supervising intern doctors receiving
Minor surgical procedures, such as laceration and bite wound management
Caring for in-hospital patients in the ICU and Progressive Care Unit
Collaborating with specialists and general practitioners to ensure the best care for all patients
Communicating with clients
Mentoring rotating interns
Communicating with referring veterinarians
Training and mentoring support staff
