About Iowa State University
Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine (VDPAM) was created in 1997 to strategically grow the resources and emphasis in production animal medicine at the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine. VDPAM consists of approximately 55 faculty and 150 staff and many of our faculty and staff serve food animal agriculture through the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center’s Food Animal and Camelid Hospital. The LVMC provides advanced, specialized medical care and 24/7 emergency services. Our team of board-certified specialists (internal medicine, surgery, theriogenology), residents and interns, fourth-year veterinary students, and registered veterinary technicians work together to offer medical and surgical care and diagnostics to a variety of species including cattle, sheep, alpacas, llamas, goats. The hospital has specialized equipment and a dedicated large-animal treatment area that includes stalls for cattle, small ruminants, and camelids to provide patient-focus veterinary care.
