What we’re looking for:
Pieper Veterinary, a 24-hour emergency and specialty practice in Middletown, CT, is seeking an experienced candidate to join our team as the Specialty/Emergency Hospital Director. Under general supervision from the COO, the Specialty/Emergency Director has complete responsibility of the operation of the business and is responsible for supervising agents of all hospital services and personal and maintaining and improving the delivery of medical care and clinical services. The Specialty/Emergency Director recruits, hires and develops staff members, mediates internal and external conflicts, develops efficient operational policies, acts as quality assurance agent, ensures regulatory compliance, and pioneers client/referral outreach, relations and care. The Specialty/Emergency Director is also responsible for partnering with the Medical Director to create an environment of teamwork in which quality medicine is delivered. We are offering the opportunity to become part of an established, well-respected and privately owned veterinary practice.

Our specialty teams include Emergency & Critical Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and Oncology. Specialty departments work collaboratively as a team, conferring on cases to ensure we explore every option in the treatment of our patients.

Partnering with a community college, our hospital provides clinical training for an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program and teaching opportunities for our doctors and staff. We are also very proud to be a VECCS Level I certified emergency & critical care facility.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include advanced imaging modalities such as digital radiography, CT-Scan, MRI, multiple ultrasounds, wireless Fukuda Denshi telemetry, 64-slice CT, 1.5 T MRI, C-Arm with neurovascular platform, Maquet Servo-U ventilator with NAVA and volumetric capnography and minimally invasive surgical equipment. Ancillary services on site include in-house Antech laboratory, physical therapy, and Radio-cat. Pieper Memorial also has a Antech reference laboratory in the building with an on-site clinical pathologist.
Pay: $100,000/annually
