Mainstay Veterinary Practice is looking for a full-time associate veterinarian to join our family-owned (and woman-owned), growing private practice.
We are an AAHA accredited and Cat Friendly accredited small animal veterinary hospital in Fairfax, Virginia currently building out our soon-to-be new 12 exam-room 10,000 square foot veterinary hospital (move in date March 2023) equipped with:
Private doctor's offices
Double surgery suite
Double dental suite
Cat-only treatment area
Nurse treatment exam rooms
10-person classroom
We currently have 3 veterinarians and are looking to add to our team where the new associate can become familiar with us prior to our move in early 2023 (just down the road 1.5 miles). We are really looking for a veterinarian that wants to practice high-quality medicine with a well-trained team of assistants to help ease the doctor's workload. Our current team of doctors are close, great friends and great colleagues. They share cases, enjoy social events together and are family. Dr. Hitt and Dr. Chamarande have been working together for over 15 years and Dr. Hosler used to work with them when she was just starting the field as an assistant before college and vet school! We are looking for a 4th family member :)
We place a huge emphasis on not burning staff/doctors out and greatly value our work/life balance. We schedule 30 minutes appointment and are very cognizant not to overload our employees. We are very team-oriented and have an amazing employee base with great attitudes. We offer great benefits (health, dental and vision insurance, 401K, paid time off, CE allowance, licenses and dues) and have a great work life balance (we close at 6pm during the week!). Our veterinarians alternate Saturdays so likely you would have 1 Saturday a month.
Must perform and have an interest in surgeries and dentals. Prefer to have at least 3 years of experience in small animal medicine. We take the stress out of commission and prefer to pay straight salary (no more stressing about charges and invoicing!) -- we have historically paid a higher annual salary than the best year a vet had on commission.
