Location
Hilltop Pet Clinic is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Pueblo West, Colorado. Referred to as the “Steel City,” Pueblo is known for hosting the Colorado State Fair as well as the extensive number of museums and public parks in the area. If you are a night owl, there are plenty of breweries, clubs, and trendy restaurants you can spend your night enjoying. Pueblo is also home to the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk which offers boat rides, a wide variety of restaurants, and all the shopping your heart desires! Minutes from Hilltop is Lake Pueblo State Park. Lake Pueblo rated a fishing “hot spot,” provides over 4,600 surface acres of water, 60 miles of shoreline?? and almost 10,000 acres of land. Along with the sunny days and a mild year-round climate, visitors quickly learn that one day is not enough.
Practice Overview
Hilltop Pet Clinic is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. Hilltop is one of the top practices in the county whose primary goal is to improve the lives of its patients one pet at a time. Beyond top-notch pet care, we aim to have our facility be a comfortable and safe environment to ensure our clients feel at ease. We are part of a close-knit community and treat each patient as we would our own pets. What You will Be Working On
- Diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of small animal cases; perform general wellness exams and surgeries
- Maintain a high level of client communication and patient care
- Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork
- Provides stability and leadership within the clinic
- Continuously evaluate ways to innovate operational practices that drive growth and profitability
- Ensures that DVM schedules reflect the needs of the clinic and are coordinated with the medical staff schedules
- Works with the owners on weekly, monthly, and quarterly priorities and expectations
- Drive practice growth through effective management of key financial metrics
- Resolves client issues where appropriate and answers questions pertaining to medical and surgical procedures
- Maintain availability to answer questions with regards to all aspects of the clinic
- Evaluates and monitors protocols for daily management and flow of clinic from intake to discharge
- Monitors cases in clinic to be sure highest standards are being upheld
- Lead the performance review process for DVMs and medical staff
- Participates in practice management updates and training at all levels
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by owners
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program is required
- Being licensed or able to become licensed in the state of Colorado required
- Experience leading and managing others required
- A minimum of seven years of experience is preferred
- Interest in diagnostic medicine, surgery, and dental is encouraged
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for continuous learning
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
