Capitol Illini Veterinary Services, located in Springfield, Illinois, is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our team! All experience levels are welcome to apply. Our clinic would provide an excellent environment for veterinarians interested in practicing the highest level of medicine and surgery. Our doctors all have varied interests, which we highly encourage and support.
About our clinic: Capitol Illini Veterinary Services is a full-service small animal hospital, offering the gold standard in medical and surgical care. We believe healthy pets make happy people, and we strive to provide high-quality veterinary care for cats and dogs in the Central Illinois area. We are AHAA Accredited, Cat Friendly, and Fear-Free Certified!
Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound and we refer to our sister hospital in Chatham for endoscopy. We use Intravet for our electronic medical record software.
Our doctors perform a variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries, dentistry, and our medical director, Dr. Christina Holbrook, performs our orthopedic procedures. We do have laparoscopic surgical equipment for any candidates interested in laparoscopic procedures. All our patients undergoing anesthesia have per-op lab work and receive an IV catheter, IV fluids, and are carefully monitored and recovered by our skilled surgical technicians.
Most importantly, we have phenomenal, experienced support staff who are crucial to the success of patient and client care. Every doctor is well-supported with a 3:1 technician to doctor ratio. We have dedicated assistants per doctor each day who enter charges, discuss treatment plans and assist each doctor, as well as technicians in the lab and to help with procedures.
Our practice is open Monday – Friday, 7 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 7 am to 1 pm. Our doctors are scheduled from either 8 to 5 pm or 9 to 6 pm on weekdays and 7 to 1 pm on Saturdays, have an hour for lunch, and have generous time reserved for writing medical records and for client communication. We can be flexible with scheduling, but would ideally like someone open to Saturday rotations. There are no on-call responsibilities, because we are lucky to have an emergency clinic right down the street and we have a great working relationship with them. You can learn more about our amazing practice at capitolillinivet.com.
