We are a fast-growing, community-minded organization whose mission is to provide the best veterinary care at low prices for our community.
Our client base stretches throughout the South Bend and surrounding Michiana area including the state of Michigan, and involves local rescues/shelters.
The Associate Veterinarian is instrumental in providing affordable care to our community of customers and rescues/shelters. Under the leadership of our Medical Director, tasks include anything from performing routine wellness exams and vaccines to minor illnesses, spay/neuter surgery, euthanasia, and prescribing appropriate medication when necessary.

Associate Veterinarians must provide outstanding customer service to clients, educating clients on responsible pet care in a supportive manner
Must be a positive team player who will work collaboratively with Practice Manager and Medical Director, other veterinary staff including technicians, assistants, and office staff to ensure a positive, effective experience for both customer and patient.
Proper maintenance of medical paperwork and prescriptions required
Must possess surgical and diagnostic skills, drawing from best practices within veterinary medicine; expectation that prescription of drugs and execution of veterinary practice is performed in accordance with proper industry standards and legal guidelines
Be supportive of the mission and vision of Preventative Pet Health of Michiana, including the continued growth and development of the organization
Must be able to maintain a joyful, positive demeanor in a fast-paced, energetic environment
Must maintain detailed, informative and effective communication with both clients and co-workers
Must demonstrate a degree of flexibility in tenuous or difficult circumstances
Must have the ability to multitask, be confident, and have an ambitious work ethic
Experience will be highly regarded, but not required, as the practice owner/veterinarian will provide a high level of support and mentorship if desired
The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for standing and moving for several consecutive hours, bending, and lifting small to large animals. Associate Veterinarians will at times be required to manage and physically restrain uncooperative, feral or aggressive animals. There is a potential for exposure to Rabies. For this reason, up-to-date vaccinations are strongly recommended. There is a potential for exposure to zoonotic diseases; as such, optimal health and cleanliness standards must be kept for both staff and patients.
Candidates must have a degree in veterinary medicine
Candidates must be licensed/eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Indiana, and be eligible for a DEA license

Contract Length: 2 years Required Shifts: 4 days per week (Tuesday-Friday) in addition to 2 Saturdays per month Pay: $91,000-$120,000.00 per year (negotiable pending on experience)
Dues: IVMA/AVMA Dues
Licensure: Fees will be paid for testing and licensing in Indiana, including all associated Indiana CSR and 1/3 of the DEA fees.
Insurance: Professional Liability Insurance: Paid, Health Insurance: Reimbursed for up to $4,800.00 a year, at a rate of $400.00 per month.
Sick Days: One week (four working days) of paid sick days are available per year as needed and are accrued upon the first day of employment.
Personal Days: One week (four working days) of personal days are available per year if needed and are accrued upon the first day of employment.
Vacation Days: Two weeks (8 working days) of vacation per year is available and can be used after 90 days of employment.
