Looking for a veterinary student that is interested in furthering practical small animal skills. We are a single veterinarian, small animal clinic with a new hospital that opened in 2014. We have full in house labs, radiology, ultrasound, and rigid endoscopy, so there are numerous areas for a student to improve on their skills.
We expect our externs to present themselves in a professional manner and work along side of our veterinarian. We have excellent support staff to help and assist in any manner that is needed. We would expect the extern to work a 4-5 day schedule, depending on their availability.
We are located in NE Ohio, east of Canton, but do have room available to stay without charge.
A veterinary student who has at least completed their first year of veterinary college.
County Line Veterinary Service, Inc is an exclusive pet animal clinic in rural Homeworth, Ohio, approximately 15 minutes east of Canton, Ohio. We are also less than 1 & 1/2 hours drive from either Cleveland or Pittsburgh. There is good quality of life outside of practice! And the cost of housing is still very affordable. We have a new clinic as of May 2014, and practice high quality, not high volume veterinary medicine. We are active with the OSU veterinary internship program, as well as the internship programs with Stark Tech and Ross College RVT programs. We expect our veterinarians to work up their cases as much as possible. All the veterinarians discuss cases regularly and try to assist each other with diagnostics and surgeries. We have 5 RVTs and several assistants that make up our excellent support staff. We have a strong belief in educating our clients on preventative medicine.
