Platte Woods Animal Hospital is a small animal hospital located in north Kansas City and has been serving the northland since 1971. The practice is currently a 3.5 doctor practice and is seeking the addition of a full time and/or part time associate veterinarian.

PWAH is a rapidly growing, privately-owned practice within an economically mature region of Kansas City with an established clientele & ideal location along a major highway. PWAH is an AAHA-accredited hospital that provides wellness/preventive care, surgery (soft & hard tissue), dentistry (including dental radiography), imaging, hospitalization (with several options for overnight referral if necessary), and boarding.

Medical amenities include a state of the art facility that was constructed in 2017, brand new DR radiography & ultrasonography equipment from SOUND Imaging with Antech Imaging Services capability, DR dental radiography, in-house IDEXX ProCyte DX/Catalyst One/SNAP tests,  electrocautery, and a cold laser. Our medical software is the cloud based system DaySmart Vet (formerly Vetter), and we utilize iPads as well as desktop stations for efficient work flow.

PWAH has good working relationships with neighboring emergency and critical care clinics, which allows our doctors to enjoy a good work/life balance. Currently there is no on-call responsibilities of our doctors during the off-hours. We invest our time and resources heavily into a healthy work culture. It is our goal to utilize our staff for the skills they possess, and for them to enjoy coming to work every day.

PWAH offers surgical mentorship & a teamwork approach to the medical care of its patients. We regularly evaluate and edit our practice protocols to maintain the most up-to-date medical care.  PWAH offers paid time off, health/dental/ophthalmic insurance, retirement plan, and medical benefits for employee pets. This associate position starts at a six figure salary and signing bonus. Relocation stipend is negotiable. PWAH also offers a CE stipend & will pay for professional licensing/membership.

Our hospital is located in the north Kansas City area, in which there are several great school districts & neighborhoods for families. There are several local options of entertainment, shopping, and restaurants, and we are a short 15 minute drive from the downtown area that houses the T-Mobile Center, Power & Light District, & Crossroads District. If you enjoy watching sports, our hospital is about 30 minutes from the Kansas City Chiefs & Royals stadiums!

We take emergency cases during business hours and provide overnight hospitalization to those who need it.
