Bedford Animal Hospital LLC is a privately owned animal practice. We are located just below the Peaks of Otter/Blue Ridge Parkway in the southwest part of Virginia. Bedford County is a true paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. However, big city fun is only 30 minutes away. We have a position open for a full-time small animal practitioner (no large animal work) or a mixed animal vet who is ready to slow down or is just getting started. We no longer do small animal after hour emergencies and only limited large animal after hours work . We have all the toys; state of the art in house bloodwork, digital xray, dental xray and ultrasound. Currently upgrading our surgery as well. Our clients are very loyal because they know we offer quality medicine at affordable prices. We do a lot of surgery and canine reproductive work. We have a staff that genuinely loves to work together as a team. Doctors collaborate with each other on a daily basis to foster learning and the sharing of ideas and techniques. Our large animal work focuses on small family farms and includes cows, horses, goats, sheep, pot-belly pigs and camelids. Work full-time or part-time, your choice. Straight salary compensation, or salary plus production, your choice. All licenses and DEA costs are paid, paid vacation, 401k, health insurance and money towards CE. If you are ready to come back home to a James Herriot type practice give us a call.
Knowledge of small animal medicine and surgery
Optional is knowledge of large animal medicine and surgery
High volume mixed animal practice. We are located in Bedford County which is in southwest Virginia. Lots of outdoor activities close by. Great small town with vibrant downtown and two large cities close by. No after hours small animal work and limited large animal emergency work. We have senior vet students from VA Tech on a regular basis so mentoring a young graduate is not a problem. We have in house blood machines, a new ultrasound, and digital xray. We do a lot of reproduction work with canines, and have a high volume of small animal surgeries daily. Sadly, due to the encroachment of the cities we have lost most of our dairies and large farms, but we still provide veterinary care to the remaining small cattle farms and back yard horse owners. We also see goats, sheep, pot belly pigs and alpacas.
