South Cherokee Veterinary Hospital is looking for a full-time DVM who is outgoing and motivated by quality medicine, continual learning and bonding with the clients. We don't need someone who is driven by ego, strictly money, or is intimidated by being part of a TEAM of doctors, but rather a person with a strong mind and a friendly personality. We welcome everyone to read through our 4.9-star Google rating with hundreds of reviews to get a feel for what kind of practice we are. It is also VERY important that this person be interested in staff development and mentoring - keeping good staff involves doctors recognizing that they are de facto leaders in whatever practice they choose to be a part of.

We work hard to make sure each doctor has two dedicated techs each day, and possibly more if another doctor is out of town. One aspect that may be highly attractive to newer vets is the level of mentorship our doctors can offer. A new graduate would have at their disposal decades of experience, including doctors well versed in emergency/critical care medicine, and an array of diagnostic and surgical experience.

Our hospital is undergoing a remodel which will add in two more exams rooms. We have a quality GE ultrasound, state of the art digital radiography, digital dental radiography, a full complement of Idexx lab machines, paperless medical records and multiple digital client communication platforms.

The Woodstock, Canton, Acworth areas are the sweet spot for living near Atlanta. We are shielded on one side from over development by lake Allatoona, which also provides tons of recreational opportunities. Driving South 30 to 45 minutes puts you in the heart of Atlanta with first class restaurants, concert venues, national sports teams and shopping of all kinds. Driving an hour north lands you in the foothills of the Appalachians with State and National forests, camping, hiking, boating, fishing.. you name it for outdoor activities.

Old downtown Woodstock has been fully revived and offers an awesome hometown feel with modern shops and eateries, even a couple of show venues of our own. The practice is 5 minutes from this area while being 10 minutes away from a boat marina, and one of the most well-known mountain biking parks in the country at Blankets Creek. Downtown Acworth and downtown Canton offer similar experiences.
