We are looking for a full time equine veterinarian for a progressive 2 doctor 100% ambulatory practice in beautiful central Ohio. Practice is located in Lancaster, Ohio, which is 20 minutes southeast of Columbus and 30 minutes from the Hocking Hills region. Area is a mixture of agriculture, forest and suburbs with many things to see and do. Work consists mainly of sports medicine with Standardbred racehorses as well as some performance Quarter horses, Dressage horses, pleasure horses and some back yard horses. In truck computers, digital x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, shockwave therapy, cryotherapy, IRAP, PRP and power dentistry are all utilized. Veterinary assistants are utilized extensively as well. Ideal candidate will have a have a strong background in lameness and possibly reproduction, be energetic, outgoing, and have high integrity. Must be able to communicate well with clients. If there is a special niche that you would like to be more involved with-i.e. (reproduction, dentistry, sports medicine, etc.), we will help you achieve it. Emergency calls are shared so that a high quality of life away from work is available. Our practice is small so there is a family feel to it vs the large practices and some mentoring can be done if needed. Full time position is available Immediately. A base salary commensurate with experience along with a percentage of production, AVMA and AAEP dues paid, Ohio racing commission license paid as well as health benefits, 401K plan with a 4% company match, malpractice insurance, liability insurance, paid vacation and a stipend for continuing education are being offered. a fully stocked work vehicle is provided as well.
