Lenawee Humane Society is looking for a Shelter Veterinarian to serve full-time as the lead Veterinarian or provide services on a flexible, contractual part-time or casual basis.
The Shelter Veterinarian’s primary responsibility is to provide exceptional, humane medical care and treatment to all animals in our care regardless of diagnosis, prognosis, length of stay or reason for intake. Spay/Neuter and other surgeries are needed to ensure quality outcomes and will be performed on shelter, public and community animals.
Salary is negotiable.
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree (DVM)
Licensed to practice Veterinary medicine in the State of Michigan
Maintain Michigan Controlled Substance License
Experience with the practice of Veterinary medicine, public health or environmental health preferred.
Must maintain superior medical judgment combined with a high level of empathy.
Skill in the use of a variety of veterinary medical equipment including, but not limited to, anesthesia machines, pulse oximeters, autoclave, surgical instruments, refractometer, X-ray and X-ray processor, microscope, and stethoscope.
