VCA Portsmouth Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian to complement our talented team in Portsmouth, Virginia.

We've been serving the local community for more than 25 years! Our highly competent and compassionate staff aims to provide the very best veterinary care possible. We are growing our two-doctor practice to provide even more excellent care to our growing clientele. We do not require Sunday, on-call, or overnight shifts thanks to neighboring emergency clinics. Our practice has in-house lab work capabilities (Abaxis), digital radiographs, ultrasound machine, digital dental radiographs, and a surgical suite with suction, cautery, and digital anesthesia monitoring. 

We also have a designated wet table for dental procedures. In addition, we treat dogs, cats, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and other exotics and offer routine surgeries such as spay, neuter, mass removals, and dentals for most species.

 Our “beach vibe” Luxury Boarding building offers our canine friends spacious suites, an enclosed yard to run and play in, and access to our hospital services during their parents’ vacation. Daycare for working clients’ pets is available in the same luxury setting.    

We didn’t forget about our feline friends! Their boarding suites are located upstairs in our main building, which is quiet and comforting. Our boarding accommodations are the cats meow with plenty of windows to watch the outside world, toys, tunnels, and beds!

We are just 25 miles from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and minutes away from Norfolk, Chesapeake, and Suffolk. With easy access to Interstate 264 from our building, any adventure or activity that appeals to you is within driving range! From Portsmouth City Park, where you can sit by the water and relax for lunch, take a ferry ride from Portsmouth to Norfolk to check out the local restaurants and shops or take a drive to Busch Gardens; Hampton Roads has a lot to offer!
