Port Hueneme Animal Hospital needs an Associate Veterinarian. We are a small, but very passionate staff, that enjoy aiding all the furry friends in our quiet port town.
Practice Highlights
Independently owned practice; Dr. Marti Armington has been sole owner for 20+ years, and has no intention of selling.
Superb local specialist connections; Conveniently located within 1-2 hour drives of a wide array of specialists. Dr. Armington has established many consult/referral lines with local internists, surgeons, dentists, ophthalmologists, cardiologists, neurologists, and more. We pride ourselves on finding the best options for every patient we see.
Small town, familiar faces; Being a small port town, many of our clients are seen through generations. Though we do accept some new clients, the majority of our appointments are with families that have cared for their pets for years, and whom trust us to give the best medical care.
About the Opportunity
This opening is not due to a departing DVM. We are looking to hire an Associate Veterinarian as an additional doctor for the team. Dr. Armington has worked many years as the sole practitioner, but now feels it is time to expand. New grads are welcome, as are seasoned veterans. The position is flexible if you have specific clinical interests.
About the Hospital
We recently moved into a larger building, with new modern equipment. As preparation for expansion, Dr. Armington did move the hospital to accommodate a larger client base. We now have enough space for 2-3 doctors to work jointly. Our hospital is 2 blocks from the local beach, with a general sunny atmosphere throughout the year.
We primarily see canines and felines, with a specialization in geriatric treatment. There are still plenty of young puppies and kittens as well of course. We also see some pocket pets, the occasional rabbit or chinchilla. But exotic work is not required.
