St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Cayman Islands is expanding the faculty in anticipation of increasing enrollment. Full-time teaching positions are available in multiple disciplines within the Basic and Clinical Sciences departments including, but not limited to:
Small Animal Medicine
Small Animal Surgery
Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery
Reproduction
Avian-exotic/special species
Clinical Pathology
Toxicology

We are looking for experienced, credentialed educators who are passionate about teaching. We offer small class size where you will know your students by name, a collaborative and friendly work environment, and a safe and beautiful living environment. The primary emphasis at St. Matthew’s is teaching. Our faculty members spend most of their time teaching, mentoring, and advising students. Research and other scholarly pursuits are encouraged and supported.
Successful candidates will be expected to act as the primary instructor and course coordinator in one or more courses within their areas of expertise, and contribute to team teaching efforts where appropriate. Limited participation in the Clinical Skills curriculum is expected for Clinical Science appointees. All faculty members are expected to participate in faculty committee work and school governance and hold office hours for student mentoring.
Qualifications: Veterinarians with post-graduate training (MS/PhD) are preferred for the Basic Sciences positions. In the Clinical Sciences, preference is given to applicants with residency training, a graduate degree, and diplomate status in an appropriate specialty. Individuals with specialty board-eligibility will be considered. Experienced practitioners with a talent and passion for teaching are welcome to apply as instructors in the Clinical Skills curriculum.
Salary and academic rank are commensurate with a candidate’s qualifications and experience. Pension, health benefits, funding for continuing education and generous vacation time are provided.

Located in the beautiful island of Grand Cayman,the School of Veterinary Medicine at St. Matthew's University operates year around on a trimester system, admitting a new class of students three times per year (September, January and May), and all courses are taught in each semester. Students spend the first seven semesters at the main campus on Grand Cayman and complete their final year of clinical training at one of our affiliate Schools of Veterinary Medicine in the United States or Canada.
