The Surgery Veterinarian is a trained and licensed veterinarian responsible for performing mainly spay/neuter surgeries in a high-quality, high volume spay/neuter clinic and shelter setting. The Surgery Veterinarian may also be responsible for other surgeries that arise in a shelter setting. Summary of Essential Responsibilities: Perform all work in accordance with SPCA of Texas protocol; Perform an average of 36 spay/neuter surgeries on both shelter and privately-owned animals, primarily dogs and cats, per scheduled work day; Oversee all aspects of veterinary care during the shift, including pre- and post-operative care, anesthetic administration and monitoring, emergency care, restraint, and treatment.
