St. Matthew’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine in the Cayman Islands is looking for a full-time faculty member who is passionate about teaching Veterinary Pathology. The ideal candidate possesses a DVM/VMD/BVSc, and/or PhD Pathology and is preferably board eligible or board certified in Veterinary Pathology.
The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate and teach in the Pathology courses as well as participate in laboratories. In addition, all faculty members are expected to participate in faculty committee, school governance, and hold office hours for student mentoring.
Starting date ideally is May, 1, 2024, for the beginning of our summer semester.
The main emphasis at St. Matthew’s is education, and our faculty spends most of their time teaching, mentoring, and advising students. We offer small class size, a safe and beautiful environment, and an excellent group of colleagues for you to work with. Students spend the first seven semesters on Grand Cayman and complete their final year of clinical rotations at one of our affiliate schools in the United States or Canada.The School of Veterinary Medicine at St. Matthew’s University uses the trimester system and pathology is taught in the 3rd and 4th semesters.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with a candidate’s qualifications and experience. Salaries are not subject to income tax in the Cayman Islands. Pension, CE funding, and health benefits are provided. Vacation time occurs between semesters, providing faculty with at least 7 weeks off per year.
